Yesterday we met and discussed the book with the very long name - The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. The book was written by Mary Ann Shaffer, who died before the book was completed, so her niece Annie Barrows completed it.
I think it's fair to say that all of us loved the book. It was an easy read, humoristic, but with a depth and a sense of the characters that was fascinating. It takes place just after the WW2 is finished, and is written in letter format.
I won't go into detail about what the book is about - since this page is mainly for our own use. What I want to take down here is what ideas it sparked within the group.
These are some of the other books that this book somehow reminded us of.
